This church is named in the honour of Our Lady of Sorrows, which was venerated as early as 1550, when the Council resolved to repair the aedicula. However, in the year 1746, it was re-built in the area of Santa Croce because of its poor conditions. In the place of an aedicule, a church was built thanks to the offerings collected.
